James Deignan is a composer of choral works based in Des Moines, Iowa. A proud graduate of the Luther College music program, James began teaching choral music at Lincoln High School in Des Moines in the fall of 2016.  Multiple leaders of the choral profession have mentored Mr. Deignan, including Andrew Last, Allen Hightower, Steve Albaugh, and Ryan Deignan. James studied composition under Brooke Joyce. 

The music of James Deignan has been premiered and performed by choirs such as the Luther College Collegiate Chorale, Shrine of The Ages of Northern Arizona University, and Magpies & Ravens. James has begun a promising career commissions and is currently accepting new commissions for the upcoming year.
